Our Honey
Sarum Bee Supplies Honey
Our customers have been asking where does the honey comes from?

We are semi commercial Beekeepers working in the South of Wiltshire, I am Kevin Horner and I look after the bees, my wife Mary assists in the honey processing side of the business. Our bees are all sited on farms and private estates in the locality.

In springtime our bees work the Oil Seed Rape along with other early flowering trees and hedgerow flowers, the nectar is collected and honey is harvested in May/ June, this gives us our set honey, we put this honey through a creaming process, this leaves the consumer with a smooth easy spread honey with a delicious flavour.

In the summer months our bees work all the wild flowers in hedgerows and estate private gardens, this usually gives a runny honey that has a very varied flavour depending on what is in flower at the time, as a rule the darker the honey the stronger the flavour.

Our cut comb honey is exactly as described, the frames are harvested and the comb cut from the frames and boxed for sale, it is usually made up from summer floral honey, this gives you honey in its most natural form. All honey will eventually granulate and it is actually an indicator of the quality and purity of the product.

We also produce heather Honey from our colonies that go to the New Forest at the end of the summer, this honey is very dark and has a strong flavour, it is also very fickle and a good crop is reckoned to come one year in every five.

Seasonally we also produce gift packs for Christmas containing honey, candles and beeswax. Candles are also available for sale individually.
